So it’s that time once again… it’s time to start back up with my afterschool student technology club! I’ve been wracking my brain all summer long trying to figure out the logistics, like “Am I going to start with a new group of kids or continue with the old group?”, “Will we still meet at the same time?”, “What type of projects will we complete this year?”, etc.
And I think I’ve finally figured everything out. I decided that I would like to continue working with the same group of kids from last year if they are still interested in participating. They were 4th graders last year, so they will be 5th graders this year. I want to work with these same students for a little longer because while we had a lot of fun and learned a lot of new and exciting things, we had very little time together last year.
I decided that I’ll work with these students for the first semester (up until Winter Break), and then start fresh with a new group of 4th grade students again after Winter Break. I plan to keep our meetings on the same day (Tuesday) and at the same time (from 2:30-4:00 pm), and I hope to start our meetings sometime after Labor Day. That should give me enough time to distribute and collect new parent permission forms and to plan some new and exciting projects for us to conquer.
***Fingers-Crossed***… I hope this plan works out.
Do you have any good ideas of Tech Club projects we can try? If so, post them in the comments section below.
And I’ll be sure to keep you updated as to how things are going!
